
Renuka Mishra
Renuka Mishra is Trustee at ORF. She is also Founding Member and Director of Nirantar: Centre for Gender and Education, in Delhi.
Mrs. Mishra has a wide body of work in the fields of education and gender. She has been a lecturer, social worker — as well as consultant on social policy issues with the Indian government.
She has earlier led a national consultation on women’s education in collaboration with ASPBAE. The recommendation of the consultation fed into the working group set up by the Ministry of HRD for the 10th plan in 2001.
She has organised state-level curriculum workshops to train teachers, educators and field workers in curriculum development. She also led gender sensitisation workshops for police personnel, NGO workers and government functionaries.
A former member of the IPCL committee (1995-96) under the Ministry of Human Resources and National Literacy Mission, Mrs. Mishra conducted a countrywide evaluation of the gender component of UNICEF programmes.
Between 1969 and 1971, she was nominated by the UK government as ‘Member of the Commonwealth Citizens Advisory Panel.’
