Video Editor & Producer
Salary: As per industry standards
Reports To: Head of Communications & Outreach
Location: New Delhi
Expertise: The video editor and producer is expected to support the media and communications team in the production of their day-to-day activities, internal and external events, and high-level forums. They should have a firm grasp of video editing softwares, particularly Adobe Premiere Pro, and should be proficient in reviewing audio and visual footage and using the relevant software to organise clips into a cohesive unit. Their duties include splitting or combining video clips, adding appropriate sounds or graphics and watching the finished product to catch mistakes before submitting it for review. The Video Editor & Producer should be comfortable with handling both in-person and online video production and editing.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Editing videos in all formats—GIFs, social media style short videos, and long films.
- Proficiency and experience in in-person video shoots and production, i.e., the use of appropriate lighting, AV equipment like cameras and microphones etc.
- Proficiency and experience in online video recording and production, i.e., the use of video softwares like Zoom and WebEx, live streaming facilities like OBS, YouTube and Twitter Lives etc.
- Following a script, screenplay or outline.
- Inputting sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting music and writing voice-overs.
- Inputting graphics to enhance footage.
- Digitally splicing film and video and synchronising them into one rough cut file.
- Improving and correcting lighting, colouring, and faulty footage.
- Working closely with the media team to present a final product that matches ORF’s brand identity and guidelines.
- Quick turnaround time for video post-production.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and Digital Media is preferred but not mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with video editing software especially Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Excellent in-person and online video production skills.
- Training in multimedia and communications helpful.
- General understanding of computers and digital equipment and knowledge of new and cutting-edge technology.
- Has a creative eye for improvements in style, pacing, aesthetic etc.
- 3-4 years of experience is preferred.

Accounts Officer

Reports To: General Manager – Accounts
Expertise: The Accounts Officer is expected to support the General Manager of Accounts. They should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations. They should possess strong excel and book keeping skills. The Accounts Officer should be comfortable with handling large amounts of numerical data and managing multiple tasks with deadlines.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Manage accounting transactions
- Support and prepare budget forecasts
- Publish financial statements in time
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Coordinate and ensure timely bank payments
- Compute taxes and support the preparation of tax returns
- Support compliance with all organisational, state and national accounting and financial regulations
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software especially Tally
- Advanced MS Office skills particularly Excel
- Excellent knowledge of regulations and procedures on GST returns
- Strong understanding of TDS deduction and filing of related returns

Research Fellow – Climate Finance and Energy Transitions
Salary: As per industry standards
Reports To: Director – Centre for the Economy and Growth
Expertise: The Research Fellow/Associate is expected to lead ORF’s research projects in the field of Climate Finance and Energy Transitions – focusing on analysing how international finance structures can be made responsive to investments in clean energy infrastructure as well as how India’s domestic financial market can encourage private capital investments in renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- The Research Fellow will be expected to undertake analysis of international banking norms such as Basel III, domestic and international financial regulatory policy, trends in global climate finance, and private capital investments in clean energy.
- Lead and manage ongoing research projects in the field of Climate Finance and Energy Transitions
- Liase with partners and stakeholders engaged in these areas.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- A Post Graduate degree in economics or finance;
- At least 5 years of work experience;
- Experience in the use of methodologies from micro- and macroeconomics, public policy, regulatory economics and finance, among others;
- Good knowledge of international climate policy and the role of finance in this context;
- Strong understanding of private capital instruments and global banking norms and processes;
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills;
- Experience in producing research outputs and project reports;
- Superior English verbal and communication skills;
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative.

New Media Manager

Reports To: Director – ORF Kolkata and Web Editor – ORF
Expertise: The New Media Manager primarily focuses on increasing ORF Kolkata’s social media footprint and introducing new avenues of digital communication via new media platforms.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Create comprehensive social media plans and campaigns for ORF’s Kolkata center that align with overall organisational strategy and brand messaging.
- Oversee social media accounts ensuring up-to-date content and community management for research and events.
- Actively engage with social media audiences in the region to drive conversations, route questions and comments appropriately, and handle any potential crisis with the aim of improving brand perception and sentiment.
- Manage a social content calendar and performance metrics to ensure alignment with larger brand social strategy and the needs of stakeholders in the region, coordinating with the Publications team, Forums team and Creative team content and design planning and execution.
- Develop website content for the launch of ORF Bengali
- Create comprehensive social media plans and execute campaigns for ORF Bengali.
- Curation, production, and promotion of New Media products such as podcasts and IGTV shows.
- Strategically position the outputs from research or forums with key messages on social media in a manner relevant for India’s East and Northeast regions, and India’s eastern and southeastern neighbours.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- In depth knowledge of Social media platforms posting, strategy and analytics.

Associate Fellow/Fellow, Geoeconomics Studies

ORF Internship Programme
In an effort to diversify the policy space, provide on-the-job experience, and promote thought leadership, ORF offers internships to young scholars and students from diverse backgrounds, to work with various ORF centres, programmes and initiatives. Interns engage with a variety of tasks that reflect the organisation’s functions to support the centre, programme or initiative that they have been assigned to.
Selected candidates are attached to specific supervisors across ORF’s research, communications, and forums structure with expertise in verticals compatible with the former’s inclinations. Interns are expected to work on and author an independent research article (of 800-1500 words) under the mentorship of their assigned supervisor, which will later be published under their name if it passes ORF’s editorial and review process.
Interns will work out of the ORF offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. This is a physical and full time internship.
Candidates are required to apply for an internship 30 days before their intended starting date.

- Internships are full time in nature for a minimum duration of three months.
